Each resource may have one or more roles set to determine their capabilities. A role is used in planning so that, when a project is being planned, work may be scheduled by role. Actual resources are then assigned to these tasks and roles may be defined for resources to assist in the correct assignment of resources.
Selecting Roles will display a search screen so that you can locate required ones (refer to Searching and Filters .
•Add to create a record.
•Create Data Template to add a record with spreadsheet format that can then be used as a basis to create actual roles
•Import Data to import and load role data from a spreadsheet file.
For any of those listed, you can click:
•the Location to amend it
to change the name or location.
to access the role record in order to amend it.
to create a role from a selected one that is similar. You must enter a code for the role and change other information that is different.
to change the code of the role if it is incorrect. All affected records will be updated.
to delete the role record, after confirmation. You can only do this if you have appropriate permissions and the record is not in use (for example, it is not assigned to a resource).
