At each tab, there are several actions, above the input columns, that set the data that is displayed. These actions vary to some degree between the different tables and many are not available once the forecast is approved.

Show

sets the number of periods to be shown (1-24) and the length of each period (Weeks or Months). If financial year forecasting is allowed, a maximum of 12 Years is also available. Annual forecasting of demand is not available, however, if demand of resources is enabled.

Depending on the financial year start date, each year may be shown as spanning two calendar years.

From/To

indicates the start and end of the input period. Changing the start date will automatically alter the last period shown.

You can move forwards and backwards by one of the selected periods. Clicking the From date enables the start date, month or year to be selected.

are not available for budgets, where fixed rows are input. In the case of demand, expenditure and benefits, where any number of rows may apply, they create blank rows for input, either as the last row or before the selected row.

only applies for the Demand and Expenditure tabs and is used to add multiple rows to an unapproved forecast. In these cases, you will search for roles and expense types, select several to add as rows, then enter and change details as required.

deletes rows you have selected by either checking individual rows or at the column head for all rows.

clears demand for selected demand lines in periods that are open.

edits the name of the current benefit row.

shows or hides the Department column.

swaps round the Department and Role columns

change the sequence of created rows within the table.

to set a different currency for a selected demand row.

only applies for the Expenditure tab and shows or hides the Cost Centre column.

processes an Edit Tool to enter block data for demand, expenditure and benefits.

creates new demand lines from selected ones with the department of the resource and open demand moved to the new lines.

This will apply if a resource changes departments so that demand lines reflect the current department. The original line is retained with the role and department set for the demand.

creates a new demand line from a selected one with the same department and role, and with open demand moved to it. This enables a new resource to be selected so demand is reallocated to that resource.

NOTE:
The previous two actions are only available if resource demand is enabled through Strategic Planning settings.

applies at the Demand tab and resets the daily cost rates to each role’s latest rate.

accesses an Adjust Tool to move existing entries between periods.

copies data from existing forecasts.

Effort

for budgets and demand, can be in terms of Days, Hours or FTEs (full time equivalent of a resource’s available time as a proportion of regular days) or show the Daily Cost Rate that is used. This rate will be the total of the planning rate for the role plus any departmental uplift that is set through Department maintenance.

Historical

indicates what is to be shown on rows for periods that are closed and where data is locked. This may be Forecasts (data entered here) or Actuals (time and expenditure that have been booked to the project).

In the case of Actuals and where forecasting covers a financial year, the year may have a combination of actual and planned monthly values. If so, the whole year will be locked.
