The information for this tab applies instead of the old style Gantt version if the new Gantt experience is enabled in Planning Settings. The new Task Planning Gantt includes improved processing, performance and additional features. Once the enhanced Gantt is enabled, the previous version is no longer available.
The new Gantt provides an improved user interface to facilitate classic Task and Assignment planning with additional new features including bulk edit and search capabilities.

Access this tab to view from the start date all tasks for a selected project plan. Each plan may have different versions and you can maintain task details and edit associated assignments.
Only user-created tasks appear, not those that are system-generated for direct scheduling. All tasks and sub-tasks for the selected project are listed. A sub-task is simply a task that is indented within a higher-level task to create a dependency structure.
Data is shown as a number of fields for each task. You can change the project by adding tasks, entering details directly to rows and by dragging rows to reposition them. Any rows that have been added or amended in this session will be highlighted.
The screen has various sections:
•the toolbar that provides a range of processing actions. Some of these actions can also be selected by right-clicking on the task grid, Gantt chart or assignments pane.
•the task grid lists the tasks within the selected project and allows tasks to be added or edited
•the Gantt chart provides a visual representation of the tasks and how they relate over time, with the ability to edit tasks
•the assignments toolbar has various processing actions for a selected assignment
•the assignment pane lists the assignments for the selected task so you can add and edit assignments add and edit assignments (page 40).
Right click a column heading to select the columns to appear for the tasks. These may include custom fields that have a data type of Boolean, date, short text, text, long text, float, integer, keyword or number list and have been set to be included on information screens.
If viewing projects above level 1, a summary line appears for each child project.
At this tab, you will see a traditional view using a Microsoft Project Gantt-based type of planning
A listed task may show:
•
as a warning of irregularities such as an assignment being outside the task date range
•
if it is complete
•
if it has attachments
•
to indicate a constraint exists (such as a latest allowed finish date).
Only one symbol can be shown for any task so, if multiple symbols apply, they are shown in the priority listed here.
